So it's after midnight and my dinner consisted of pouring chipotle sauce on bits of chicken and eating them while standing at the fridge. Then following it up with a spoonful of nutella.

What have I become Sad

La Quintas mexican restaurant in Bulimba last night. I had BBQ pork ribs with habanero chilli sauce. My ass is on fire right now, righteously.

Before you go we should hit up either -

http://www.burgerac.com/2011/11/meat-liquor-dead-hippie.html

or

http://www.burgerac.com/2011/11/lucky-chip-bacon-burger.html

I've already done Lucky Chip but it's got the locational edge. Marleybone is a bit fancy.

It's gotta be Meat Liquor. I have been rigid at the thought of those deep fried pickles (!!!) for days. Frrrrucking scope the booze selection. Tomorrow.

So, how was it?
Ate at a place called Huxtabuger yesterday. Frills and fancy free, but by gosh they did the basics right.

It was incredi-bous. I got a dead hippie with deep fried pickes and a cider car cocktail. The wait staff asked me if I was waiting for friends (no) and then asked if they could stroke my velvet jacket (yes). Excellent atmosphere, an outstanding burger, and a velvet jacket to boot.

I'm breaking from tradition and going for a hotdog at a brewery tomorrow. It just can't be as good as Meat Liquor but it is at a brewery.

I wish I was wearing my Cosby sweater at the time of purchase/consumption.

Dinner was nasi goreng w/ extra egg. Went the regular size instead of the large. Regretted immediately.

Lunch was a supermarket purchased tub of spicy chicken couscous which contained not one skerrick of spicy chicken. You can never quite tell if there is actually no chicken in these things until it's completely finished as the couscous forms lumps that look deceptively like chicken chunks. The last one of these I got was bloody REPLETE with chicken so I called it even.

O humble homebrand tub of couscous,
How like life you are!
One day full of spicy chicken,
Next day fuckin, nah.

What fruits are never pre-packaged with a yoghurt? Apples and oranges are some and for completely opposite reasons. Grapes.

Yesterday I went and ate the Goodman burger which comes in at number 1 with a bullet on this list. I was bitterly disappointed. Atmosphere: Nil. I was the only person in the restaurant and the wait staff topped up my water fastidiously which made me feel like I was an object to boondoggle over rather than a customer. Cheese was non-existent. Burger as a whole was impossible to eat as a burger - I had to use a knife and fork like Costanza. Medium rare came medium. The bread was on the wrong side of stale which is unforgiveable given that bread is the ingredient that separates a burger from a stack of mince. Seventeen quid sir! If I'd got it for a tenner in a pub I would have been cheering but this...this was a shame.

Its greatest offence was that it was a boring burger. Nothing stood out. As for it's number 1 position, it wasn't even the best burger I ate that day (that was a Lucky Chip snogged while blind drunk, awesome).

Speaking of burgers, here is a fantastic Alan Richman article on an epic burger mission that I found recently:

dinner was a tasty "Special Ham Burger" from misunderstood Redfern casual dining restaurant "Grill King" featuring their home made beef patty, beetroot, lettuce, caramalised onion, bacon and cheese. This was washed down with a 1.25L coke bottle filled with pickled mulled wine which is all the rage ATM
